Ah, but does it mean I'm bluffing?

I've realized that I have "tells". You know, like in poker? The little thing that gives the person away, behind their placid expression. My friend Dave's brother had a tell whenever he was lying. He'd always stare you right in the eyes, just too long for it to be natural or comfortable. I guess he thought looking anywhere else might give him away.

My tells reveal when I'm working on a design, in particular when the show is drawing near and something surprising like LOSING AN ENTIRE DAY OF TECH TIME happens. The first is obvious: Bags under the eyes, and maybe a few extra creases in the brow. But to gauge exactly how nervous I am you can look for other things too: Constant snacking, and (as nasty as this is) dandruff and zits. So if you see me looking like an obese sixteen-year-old with an itchy scalp (shit, it's like I went back in time 10 years!), you can be sure there's a humdinger of a show about to happen. Not to say it will turn out bad in the end, but it's probably something big enough for me to be pretty worried about.

But anyways...

For those in town, drop me a line and I'll give you the details of the performance dates etc. and you can judge for yourselves.

I'll be dropping you a line soon enough!

Perhaps we should play some poker!

It's going to be okay, I promise. And if it makes you feel any better, I've got the tell-tale stress zits and under eye circles too. Oh, wait, that may not make you feel much better. Scratch that, pretend I look hot right now.

Silly girl, I'm sure you're still really hot, as always. Only 21 days 'til you arrive, hooray!

Sean:
Sadly, the show closes before you're in town. But yes we must meet up! I'm terrible at poker....I suppose that might make me the perfect opponent, though! :)
