Sweet flashbacks

I've noticed something interesting about my music listening habits in the last week or two. It seems I've been putting on CDs from my grade 12/first year of UBC era. I think it's because I've been feeling a lot of the same emotions I had when I first bought them: The last month has been full of change for me, and after more than a year of the same kind of work I'm feeling excited and a little scared about what's coming.

It's probably the most risky feeling I've had since when I was the only guy from my grad class to attend UBC. I'm going to be out of my comfort zone again, among strangers and under scrutiny. The nervous excitement has made me less interested in my usual laid-back ska/skapunk/alternativey stuff, and brought me back into the faster-paced hardcore and punk world. And I must say it's great to get back in touch with this part of me, the part that used to jump around to music instead of using it as wallpaper.

So, in hommage to my rediscovered musical history, here are some of the albums I've listened to in the last little while...excuse me while I bounce around my room:

Snuff - Snuff Said
The Suicide Machines - S/T
AFI - Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes
Propagandhi - How To Clean Everything
Rancid - Let's Go
Lard - Pure Chewing Satisfaction
NOFX - Punk in Drublic
MXPX - Life in General
Bad Brains - S/T
Dead Kennedys - Plastic Surgery Disasters/In God We Trust Inc.
Bad Religion - Suffer
