probably the last post in a while
I have a few unstructured minutes (read as: procrastinating from sketching portfolio pictures) so I thought I'd type a little on the next couple of weeks. The reason? Well, I've been feeling a little bad about the lack of blogging I've been doing lately and the likelihood of me actually putting an entry in after tomorrow is pretty low. It's my "catch-up" post in advance, sneaky non?
I'm the TD of a festival here in Vancouver that is going to consume all of my time for the next little while. It's the biggest thing I've been in charge of yet, and I'm a bit apprehensive about making it all work smoothly. So far we've been doing alright, and I have a lot of support from the guy who did it last year, so I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. I think if we can make it through the first setup days we'll be alright.
The day after that wraps up I head to New York. So far I have two interviews lined up for graduate programs there, and I'm working on a third. I think this trip is going to be a little crazy. I'm already getting anxious about how to present myself at the interviews: Casual? Formal? Businesslike? Friendly? What if I say the wrong thing? What if I don't have the answer for their question right then? Yikes. But on the up-side, I'll be in NY with Caitlin (she's on spring break, see the beauty of this plan?) and I'll also (hopefully) get a chance to visit with a few friends in the area. It will also be a taste of what's hopefully going to be a couple of years in NY starting in the fall. It's funny, it seemed so far away not too long ago. Now I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to bring and what I'm going to sell.
I get back on Mar 24th - I hope I don't have to wait too long to find out if I'll be heading to the States this summer as a prospective graduate student or as a prospective undocumented worker. Should be exciting, no matter what...
